With the cooperation of Dante Della Terza and Achille Tartaro; Roberto Antonelli, Piero Boitani and Giulio Ferroni, Lucia Battaglia-Ricci, Rino Caputo and Andrea Gareffi; also of Benedetto Carucci-Viterbi, Adnane Mokrani and Tommaso Stancati
Between 2005 and 2008, I planned, organized and chaired (at first with Professor Nicola Ciampitti, later with Professor Rino Caputo, who also cooperated in defining the thematic area and in choosing the speakers for the third part of the course), a three-part course of readings from Dante, at increasingly challenging levels, on the Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso, the last two being advanced courses for teachers and students of the province of Rome.
Many famous scholars of Dante’s masterpiece took part at the course, for example, Dante Della Terza and Achille Tartaro; Roberto Antonelli, Piero Boitani and Giulio Ferroni, Lucia Battaglia-Ricci, Rino Caputo and Andrea Gareffi.
It fell to me to introduce the speakers, to interact with them, and to read and comment on Canto II of Paradise, then on Canto XXIII, together with Rino Caputo. At the conclusion of the last course, there was an innovative experiment in dialogue: an exchange of ideas between three theologians of monotheistic religions, Benedetto Carucci-Viterbi, Adnane Mokrani e Tommaso Stancati O.P., who answered some theological and scriptural questions which arose from the reading of the poem. Liceo E. Q. Visconti, Rome, 2006-2008.
